Your Windows phone device might not get Windows 10 Creators Update!

Remember those days of Early 2016 when Microsoft said that it won’t roll out Windows 10 phone some Lumia phones and maybe you were happy that your phone is not a part of those non-eligible devices? Well, now it may be the time when you would experience that pain .

Well, Windows 10 Creators Update for Mobile is scheduled to be released to the Public on April 25th 2017.

A spokesperson from Microsoft talked to ZdNet’s Mary Jo Foley that :

a device may not be able to receive the Creators Update if the device hardware is incompatible, lacking current drivers, or otherwise outside of the Original Equipment Manufacturer’s (‘OEM’) support period.

Now reading this we expect more speculations to arise that may say stuff like :

  • Windows phone is dead. (It is quiet famous though!)
  • Microsoft loves Android and iOS more than its own Mobile platform.
  • “Another bad move by Microsoft”
  • “Is it all about the money really?”
Well, before that we may tell you that the list of phones eligible for the update is :

  • Alcatel OneTouch Fierce XL/IDOL 4S
  • HP Elite x3
  • Lenovo Softbank 503LV
  • MCJ Madosma Q601
  • Microsoft Lumia 550
  • Microsoft Lumia 640/640XL
  • Microsoft Lumia 650
  • Microsoft Lumia 950/950 XL
  • Trinity NuAns Neo
  • VAIO VPB051
  • We need to highlight that this is not an official announcement by Microsoft and the list of the phones eligible maybe updated later on as well .

So lets take this as a grain of salt and hope for the best coming up!
