Google is holding an event on 4th October and as you have guessed it, most of the announcements are leaked. Adding to the leaks is the new Pixelbook Chromebook which will be running Chrome OS and will be the direct competition to Microsoft Surface Laptop.
The device is supposed to have a touchscreen and will be convertible like most 2-in-1 devices. It will also come with Google’s version of Surface Pen called Pixelbook Pen stylus that supports features like pressure sensitivity, and tilt detection.
In terms of the pricing, the entry-level variant will cost $1,199 and pack 128GB of storage, the 256GB model will cost $1,399 while the most expensive option comes at $1,749 with 512GB of storage. There isn’t any word on the technical specifications of the device but seeing the price one can assume that it will come with 8th Gen Intel Processor and top of the line configuration.
It will be interesting to see the consumer response to the new Chromebooks considering the fact that the original Chromebooks weren’t a great success.
