Skype’s new feature will be a boon for developers!

Skype has been seeing a number of updates for a few months. The first major update was the major overhaul of the Skype UI across Windows 10, iOS and Android and now Skype team announced yet another feature that will be heavily used and liked by Developers/Engineers/Coders.


Yes, Skype is getting real time coding abilities. Initially, they are available on Skype for Web only on Microsoft Edge and Google Chrome but this feature may debut very soon on Skype for Desktop, Windows 10, Android and iOS versions. The languages support by this code editor with real time execution as shown in the image above will be the following 7 Languages :

  • Java
  • JavaScript
  • Python
  • Ruby.

Microsoft is marketing this new feature for interviewers to test their applicant’s skills in real-time but this can be used in a huge number of different scenarios.
