First things first, both Mi A2 and Redmi Note 5 Pro are from Xiaomi. Its brand value is good in the Indian market. Xiaomi offers high specification mobiles to users at comparatively lower prices than competitors. General specifications of both the mobiles can be observed as follows.

This mobile was spotted on TENAA. Xiaomi released the pictures of mobile (Mi A2) in red theme. They did not release details regarding specifications and release date. It is to be noted that specifications of Mi A2 stated above are unofficial.

Actually, the device name is Mi 6X but is launching worldwide with the name Mi A2. Observing the photos, one can find that design is inspired by Redmi Note 5 Pro which includes dual camera and placement of fingerprint scanner.

Mi A2 comes with the dual camera (13MP + 13MP) which will be quite better than of Note 5 Pro (12MP + 5MP). A2 comes with the latest version of Android OS 8.0. Memory is expandable up to 256 GB in A2 whereas, in note 5 pros, users can expand up to 128 GB only.

According to the above specifications, Note 5 pro wins in the segments of Battery, display and front camera. But Mi A2 has upper hand in remaining all other segments. As said above, specifications are yet to release officially from Xiaomi. After release, the winner out of both smartphones can be known comparing their specifications.
