Windows 10 Insider Preview build 17063:

Microsoft released a new Windows 10 Insider Preview build 17063 on Tuesday. This build is a special release as said by the Windows Insiders team at Microsoft not only because it is the last build of the year 2017 but also because they claim it to be their biggest Insider Preview release yet. This was so because there were no builds released to Windows Insiders for almost 3 weeks in a row. Hence, this build included a number of new features like Timeline, Sets, Cortana Improvements, Keyboard Improvements, more Fluent Design implementations and more!

Here is my experience with the build after playing with it for more than 2 days :

Features:

Timeline and Sets:

The feature implementation with this build is quite good. This build is really feature rich as some major features like Timeline and Sets are released. These features were awaited to be experienced in the Insider Preview builds for quite a time now but it is better a build delay that a release delay (ahem! People Hub). It is worth noting that Sets is a part of A/B testing and is given only to a selected Insiders from the whole community but the Timeline feature is for everyone. I didn’t get Set but I am having a pretty good time with Timeline. It works flawlessly as expected and advertised but one very minor issue that I am facing with it is that I cannot use my Trackpad gestures to scroll through the Timeline (You can upvote on my feedback here). Otherwise, the functionality including the synchronization and the animations make it more attractive and useful.

Fluent Design System:

Although it is said that we should not judge a book by its cover, in case of software UI and UX plays a major role in the determination of success rate of the software. In case of Windows 10, the all-new Fluent Design System design language Microsoft is really making Windows 10 far more attractive. To be honest, I hated how inconsistent and simple it used to look but now with more and more fluent design elements being added to the Operating System makes it beautiful. The all new designed Settings app, Microsoft Edge, Start Menu and Action Center with Fluent Design Elements like Light, reveal and Acrylic really come together to brighten up your experience.

Performance:

It has been more than 2 days since I am playing with this build and I am glad to say that Dona Sarkar and the team have really selected a great build candidate for the holiday season. The earlier build 17046 was really a pain for me because of the broken UAC or User Account Control but this one feels like a really great one that gives me stability, performance, and beauty. I would not feel any bad about pushing this build to the Windows Insiders on the Slow Ring as well. But that is what I am saying, the ultimate decision stays with the Ninja Cat Team.

Issues:

There are two issues that I am facing with this build. The first is the scrolling issue in the Timeline as I mentioned above and the second one is the flickering screen. I suspect that to be with an update for my Integrated Graphics card from Intel but you never know if that is an issue in the shell. Please share your feedback links in the comments below and describe your suggestions and issues faced with this new Windows 10 Insider Preview build 17063.
