iOS 11

iOS 11 is finally here. Apple announced iOS 11 during WWDC 2017 and after months of Beta testing, Apple finally rolled out iOS 11 for the general public. iOS 11 is the latest update for the Apple devices and will bring new features to the existing devices. The update is currently rolling out worldwide for the supported Apple Devices. Here’s everything you need to know about the latest iOS update.

Which devices will support iOS 11

  • iPhone 5S, 6, 6 Plus, 6S, 6S Plus, SE, 7, 7 Plus, 8, 8 Plus and iPhone X
  • iPad Air, Air 2 and 5th-gen iPad
  • iPad Mini 2, 3, and 4
  • All iPad Pros
  • 6th-gen iPod Touch

How to download iOS 11

Downloading iOS 11 is pretty easy and there are two methods which you can use to download the update. The first method is using OTA update and the second method is using iTunes.

Method 1: Using Over-The-Air Update

Download the update through OTA is pretty straightforward, although you will need a good stable WiFi connection and free space on the device. Once you have both of these things ready, connect the device to the charger and head to Settings > General > Software Update. iOS will automatically check for an update, then prompt you to download and install iOS 11.

Do note that downloading iOS 11 right now might take longer than usual because a lot of people will be downloading at the same time.

Method 2: Using iTunes

If you happen to be near a computer with iTunes installed then you can go ahead and download the update using iTunes. To do this, make sure your iTunes is updated to version 12.7. Once you have this update, connect your iOS device and click the iPhone or iPad icon in the top-left corner of iTunes. Next, click on Check for Update > Download and Update. Follow the prompts, accept the terms, and let iTunes do its job.
